MacBook Air damaged after repair

I sent in my device for repair to an Apple Authorized Retailer after it was acting weird after a software update, when I got the device back, the screen and keyboard were damaged, and the device would no longer charge nor power on. The specialist said if a new problem should arise, ask for a replacement, but due to the device being so old (2012), they said there was nothing that could be done. So now, I have a device that will not work. What do I do, as I don't have the money to buy a new one at full price?

At this point, you will need to work this out with the Authorized Apple Retailer you used to make the repair. As a minimum, they should have not caused any damage during the repair process and are responsible to return it to you, at least, in the same physical condition that they got it in. I would suggest that you take this up with the Retailer's management for restitution.
