1 AppleID, 2 iPhones, and 2 different countries

I have two iPhones - a US based iPhone and a UK based iPhone. Is it possible to log-in with my single Apple ID and sync the phones so I can use the same email, calendar, iCloud, etc on each phone in their respective countries? Each phone has a different phone number and service provider.

I have the same question - one usa phone and one italian phone. I want to use the same apple id for both so I can access contacts, emails etc. However when I use my italian phone, the text sms messages are only the usa number and thus I am being charged for them instead of being able to use my italian phone plan. Same for facetime. How do I use one apple id for two different phones and can be assured that each country's respective plan is being used?

This is getting into details of using Messages with which I am not very familiar. I have only ever sent a single text message in my life. I don't know how a device decides to send a message via iCloud vs. via SMS, and if it does send it using the carrier plan then I would think it would use the carrier to which a particular device was set. I can't really help you with this, sorry. Perhaps try posting this as a new question?
