Problems with my iWatch

It wouldn’t let me know about incoming text messages or phone calls. And I found I was having to keep resetting it. Now it speaks, won’t let me put in my passcode, nor does my iPhone recognize it, help!

I have restarted both devices. Unfortunately due to the fact that the watch will not allow my passcode to work upon entry, I cannot unpair the device. Yes, I can still access the watch app on my phone but it seems to not be of assistance unless I can successfully enter a passcode and then unpair the watch. Very frustrating, as the voice is talking to me telling me to double tap to no avail.
