iPhone keeps disconnecting from car aux

over the past three years, I’ve had the iPhone 8, iPhone 11 and now the 12 Pro. Each phone will connect to the aux in any car, stop playing and disconnect from the aux and start playing from the phone speaker. Doesn’t matter what wire i use or what car it is plugged into. I believe it is a software problem on my phone- specifically linked to my iCloud! How can I fix this. I’ve even switched my phone in with apple because of this problem and nothing works!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! We understand you are encountering some issues with connecting your iPhone to your car stereo. We are happy to help provide some guidance.

You mentioned this is happening with multiple different iPhones and multiple different vehicles as well. Are you using an Apple certified cable for this, or a 3rd party cable? Which app are you experiencing these issues in? Is it just one app, or any app that you use that plays audio? Is the vehicle that you are connecting the cable to CarPlay enabled?

If you have a chance, we would recommend trying to connect the iPhone to an external speaker if possible that is not in a vehicle to see if the same issue persists there.
