Forwarding text msg to email

Just to clarify, are you attempting to send the message to another contact that is using their email address for their contact such as, iMessage or are you using a feature provided by your wireless carrier that allows you to send text message to emails?

Thanks for the info. If you are using the email address for iMessage, then it might be sending it back as an iMessage. If the email address is not one signed up for iMessage, then we'd recommend reaching out to your wireless carrier to make sure that forwarding text messages to email is an option.

We think we understand where the confusion is setting in on this. Let's see if this clears things up.

To forward a text message from within a conversation thread in the Messages app, you would long-press over the text message > tap More... > tap the Forward arrow > enter the email address destination in the 'To:' field.

Now, if you enter an email address that is associated with your Apple ID account, it will only forward that text as a new iMessage (blue bubble). If you enter an email address that is not associated with an Apple ID, it would forward that text as a .txt attachment to the email address's Inbox.
