SteelSeries Nimbus+ Wireless Gaming Controller Won't Pair with Apple TV

We bought two (2) game controllers from an Apple Store. The description says that this controller will work with all Apple devices. However, it refuses to pair no matter what we do.


Do we somehow have the wrong game controllers? What could possibly be wrong if the controllers are compatible with all Apple devices?

I just found this video on YouTube. The guy says to pair another Bluetooth item (earbuds will work). Press the pairing button on the remote and the Nimbus will soon show up. It didn’t work for me at first, but I tried it again and it worked. I hope that this problem is fixed soon because you definitely shouldn’t have to pair something else before the controller is recognized.

Just got my Nimbus yesterday. I can get the Bluetooth to recognize it in Settings for both my iPhone 6S and MacBook 12 in (2017ish, still running Mojave). I don’t have Apple TV. But the dashboard on the Steel Series just kicks me out to a typical unhelpful FAQ page. I bought it on Amazon via the “lightening deal” Apple Arcade 4 mo free special during Prime day. Still haven’t received my code yet. I’d like to play on my iPhone (probably upgrade soon) and/or my MacBook. The price deal was pretty decent if I could enjoy a sizable amount of good titles to play. I’ve seen the similar deal on the Apple Store site and so think they should support customers who now own one.

Just got a new Sony Bravia 4k TV. I had the same problem with trying to pair a SteelSeries Nimbus controller, and spent time troubleshooting with Apple Support person (who was most patient) and determined that it was the controller. I tried SteelSeries support but got caught up in their online "chat" with no change to speak to anyone and no FAQ's that addressed the problem. I am returning the controller. I may try a Playstation controller to see if it will work. Good luck.

I kinda wished I got a Sony controller instead now. The Nimbus+ is featured on the Apple Store even though I got mine through the Amazon Prime Day deal. So I thought it’d be pretty good. I just want it to work with something of mine- iPhone/MacBook. I’m trying to discharge the battery (mentioned in an Amazon review) to reset and do a “recovery” of the device as explained here in Steel Series FAQs: https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049635711-My-Nimbus-is-not-responding
