remindd running at 99-106% CPU - activity monitor

I wake up to one hot Mac! Tried the turn iCloud reminders off restart, back on to no avail. Turned Reminders Off - as you would expect it went away. No time to rebuild into new OS X as we're in the middle of a youth camp.

Any suggestions?

Hey there Flylingfar,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your device is warm and the Reminders app appears to have a high CPU activity. We're happy to provide some assistance.

When you turn Reminders in iCloud off, syncing stops across devices. When you turn it back on, Reminders will sync again on your Mac. The activity could be higher than normal when doing this. Does this occur for a long period of time? Do you have a large number of reminders? Was anything updated or changed when this started occurring?

We notice that your Mac is not updated to the latest version. Let's update it and see if the issue persists:

Also, if your Mac is warm, check out this resource:

We hope this helps.

Have a great day!
