AirTag volume and time.

Have just received an AirTag as a Father’s Day (UK) present. Was easy to set up with my iPhone 7 running iOS 14.5. The only issue I have is that I have some degree of age related hearing loss. As such the volume of the AirTag (and Phone) alert beep is not particularly loud and the duration is short requiring the “Play Sound” button to be repeatedly pressed while attempting to locate the AirTag.

Are there iOS settings anywhere to increase the length and volume of the alert on the Tag and the Phone?

The AirTag is certainly better in this respect than an earlier third party tile I had but being specifically Apple to Apple it would be desirable if there were some software adjustment either via the “Find My app” or within Accessibility.

While this currently isn't a feature, we'd recommend you provide product feedback to apple using Product Feedback. Many features have been implemented from customer feedback.

@bailier: Thank you for your prompt reply. As you advised I have filled in a “suggestion” form* to Apple raising these two points.

My previous “tiles” are the “Nut - Bluetooth Anti-loss” and their app has various adjustable parameters including one to set the length of beep sounding. There is however no volume adjustment which I would imagine is not possible within the AirTag (or Tile) hardware.

diifucult to select a suggestion category as no “AirTag” category or no “FindMy” app listed - so sent as iPhone/iOS!

I too feel the volume for the AirTag should be adjustable. For those of us that don't have a newer iPhone that is compatible with Precision Finding, the volume may not be loud enough for us to find it without doing some sort of search grid, especially in a large building or home. I attempted to do the product feedback, but it's not available for me for some reason. I'm in the USA.

Thanks for your reply and your agreement that the beep should be louder and I personally feel that the ability to extend the alert time would help as it switches off before you start looking - have to keep switching on again! As I have said my “Nut BlueTooth Anti-loss” tiles do allow adjustment of the time length via the App and also have a button to ping the phone. I originally bought these as they were the only ones available at the time with an interchangeable battery. The AirTag, as always with Apple kit, has a superior design appearance (at a cost!) but is let down by poor software control features on older phones even running the latest iOS compared with my Nut tiles. I obviously need to wear my hearing aids if undertaking a search!

Sorry you can’t report this to Apple - there is certainly no dedicated product feedback form for AirTags here in the UK so I reported via the iPhone feed back form from the general feedback menu if that is an available option in the USA.
