Hi Silverskylark13,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities and thanks for posting your issue here! We'd be glad to see how we can help you with this. We understand that you're receiving an error message when attempting to play a podcast. From how you've described it, it sounds as you may have restrictions enabled to block out explicit content. Do you recall enabling restrictions for your device?

To check on this, you'll want to head into your Settings app > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If this feature is enabled, you can disable it altogether. However, if you only want to adjust the content restrictions, then you'll want to proceed to Content Restrictions > Music, Podcasts & News > then checkmark Explicit.

Once you've adjusted these settings, let us know if you're able to listen to your podcasts now.

You can also learn more about restrictions from Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Cheers!
