Apple Music cutting out

In the last 2 weeks every time I’m listening to Apple Music it seems to cut out. It either pauses for a few seconds and then starts back up

where the song left off , starts back up on the next song or won’t start back up at all until i force close and restart music. Anyone else? I’ve got an iPhone 12 max pro Ios14.6

poor advice. Apple needs to fix the issue, not me spending hours removing then reuploading music. Also, it's Apple Music streaming that does this...

wow, this worked for me! I've been dealing with skipping music on my Mac for ages - first a 2016 MBP and now a 2021 M1 Pro MBP - when using either AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.

Ticking the "Lossless audio" checkbox under Audio Quality did the trick - no need to switch between High and Lossless quality. Unticking the checkbox reintroduces the issue.

Actually, now that I'm looking at this screen, what does this checkbox even do? My working configuration is to enable Lossless but select High Quality (instead of Lossless) in the following two drop downs. The checkbox seems to conflict with the dropdown and does not make sense to me.

Hello Kori,

It would appear from your post that Apple Music is having multiple issues.

Be sure to power cycle the iPhone. While simple, this can refresh the iOS, apps and connections.

If the issue continues, tap on Settings > Music and toggle Sync Library off. Wait 15 seconds and then toggle it back on.

If it is only an issue with certain tracks, remove those tracks and download them again.

Cheers.

I never had this issue when I had Verizon. Now that I switched to AT&T it started happening. I believe it has to do with signal. Admittedly my Verizon wireless service was much better than why I have now. It is really frustrating especially since the music is downloaded so it should not be pausing. PlayStation does something similar. Even if you own a game and it is downloaded digitally to the console, when your wifi goes it you are unable to play that game. It’s horrible and very annoying.

I've been dealing with this issue all morning - AirPods Pro didn't work - Sonos had the same issue when Airplaying from my MBP - I plugged my laptop into the Apollo Twin X with studio monitors and had the same issue - restarted my MacBook, no change - restarted internet, no change. SO ... I went into my Music Preferences, downgraded to regular audio from Hi-Res, then re-upgraded to Hi-Res ... haven't had the issue since. It must have had a glitch in streaming the Hi-Res audio.

Experiencing this same issue... Apple music cuts out periodically from iMac only when streaming on a hardwired excellent WiFi connection. When I stream from my old iPhone 8 that has never been updated, it streams perfectly. Another case of Apple updates completely ruining my music experience that I am paying a lot of money for! I am beyond mad and frustrated... trying to keep it clean.
