Are genius playlists permanently crippled?

I have a large music library on my iMac (2019), which is synced with my iPhone, and also shared with Apple TVs in the house. Most of the music (99%) is from CDs I've purchased and imported into iTunes & the Music App over the past 15 years. Yes, I'm a dinosaur. I have Big Sur (11.2.3) and Music (1.1.3.3). I am NOT subscribed to Apple music. Just today I updated the Genius data again in the Music App (File->Library->Update Genius).

The ability to make Genius playlists based on a song has been all but removed for albums released in the past ~4 years. Apple has taken a once useful tool, and basically crippled it. I assume it is because they really want to push us into a streaming service.

Are there any workarounds for people with big local music libraries that still acquire new music? Or do we just need to become our own geniuses? I attach an image of a song that should be able to generate a playlist (IMO) and the unhelpful message Apple gives. Unhelpful because it's the same for all music I have purchased in the past ~4 years.
