Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!
I'm an Apple Music subscriber with a new iMac. I'm trying to download music but every time I try, I get an error message ("There was a problem downloading "Song Title". An unknown error occurred (21). Please check the connection to the network is active and try again.)
This happens on all songs I try to download and my network connection is active.
Any ideas?

In addition to the steps above you could try holding down both option+cmd as you launch Music to open it in its own safe mode, delete the folder Downloads-Music inside the media folder and empty the trash, and use Music > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Cache to see if that helps.

First, let's review the steps here to see if it resolves the issue:
If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services
If you are still having trouble, start up in safe mode and test. If you are able to download music successfully while in safe mode, restart normally and test again.

I can connect to all Apple services just fine, so I started in Safe Mode, fired up Music and tried downloading songs again and it worked. However, when I restarted and tried again, I get the same error.
One thing I should note. I keep my music library on my NAS device, and in Music Preferences under the Files tab I point to that location. Could that be part of the problem? I was always under the impression that you absolutely could keep your music library on your NAS device.

As far as I am aware Apple have never explicitly stated that NAS is suitable for iTunes/Music libraries. It may work for you but there are tales of woe from these boards over the years. My recommendation would be to have the entire library on an external drive, mirrored to the NAS for backup.
