The Apple timer is yet again missing after the latest update to my Apple Watch. I have it as a widget on my watch face and it was all of a sudden blank. After searching it is nowhere to be found. There are only third party apps available in the App Store. Why do they keep removing the timer?? Everyone I know uses it the most of the watch.

I had to sign out of iCloud on the phone then sign back in.
then turn off app refresh and turn it back on on both the phone and the watch.
finally the apps began reloading
the odd thing is that they were in the app list, but they were all greyed out.
so I’m guessing somehow the watch got signed out of iCloud even though the phone wasn’t.
restarts and re pairing didn’t solve the problem
Good to hear of some progress. That is an interesting problem with Siri though. How are you summoning it - "start the timer" ? Would "hey siri, install the timer app by apple" fix it...? Maybe I'm expecting a bit too much ;-)
This just happened on my moms watch. The apps are greyed out in grid or list view.
I tried downloading it again but it won’t download.

Try closing everything and restarting both your iPhone and the watch. Are they both running the latest updates? Also make sure you are signed in to iCloud.
Signing out and back into iCloud worked perfectly for about 10 minutes.
the app is still on the watch, and it works, but Siri insists it isn’t installed so it has to be started manually.
Amazingly Siri started recognizing it again this afternoon.
perhaps it takes a while for new information to work it’s way to her algorithm?
Yes that is quite possible - some sync to iCloud could still have been pending when you tried it the first time.
Good to hear it got fixed then.
