“Software Update Available” but “iPadOS is up to date” I have a red circle with a “1” next to Software Update Available” in the Settings app, but when I tap it, it reads, “iPadOS 16.2 iPadOS is up to date” How do I either get the mysterious update or clear the notification that an update is available.

You should always update to the latest iOS version that your iPhone model can run.

Update includes bugs fixes and security patches and sometime new feature(s).
