Spotify on Apple Watch does not work on cellular network

Spotify on Apple Watch does not seem to want to connect and download music from the cellular network. This happens some days, and not other days. The error message says "There seems to be a problem with your connection" but I know that there is not a problem, because the watch can still make and receive calls and text messages over the cellular network. This is a Spotify app problem, specifically. I have tried closing and reopening the app, turning off the watch and turning it back on, removing the spotify app and reloading it, updating the watch software, reconnecting the watch to a wifi network then going back to cellular, and also deactivating the connection to the cellular network and reconnecting. Nothing has resolved this issue, which continues to recur after months of usage. Bottom line: the Spotify app is "spotty" at best (please forgive the pun) on the cellular network. If anyone has experienced this and has a solution, please tell me. I am starting to think my only options are to: switch to Apple music and get rid of Spotify entirely, and/or forget the Apple watch and just get some kind of small music player. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.
