Keyboard is very slow and I have to push the keys very hard.

Depending on your laptop’s model and year, numerous laptops were produced w/ a keyboard overly susceptible to malfunction from dirt.

Make sure "Tap to Click" is enabled.

If enabled already, disable it ,enable it and restart your Mac.
