Dead AirPod case due to water damage and dead AirPods. (AirPods haven't been charged for about a year)

I have AirPods and their charging case, but the AirPods have been dead for about a year. The reason they've been dead for so long is that the charging case was left in my pocket and thrown into the washer. The charging case does not work at all now and I have no idea if the AirPods will charge in a new case after being dead for so long. What do I do?
