Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities flumoxedflower,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your iPad. You have come to the right place and we are happy to assist you.  If we understand correctly, your iPad is disabled and most likely states to connect to iTunes. We can understand why you’d reach out for a solution. Hopefully, you know your Apple ID and password, but have included some links in case you don't. You will need a computer with the latest version of iTunes or a Mac with the latest OS and Finder. If you can't reset your passcode you will need to restore to factory default and then setup your iPad as new with your Apple ID & password. But then you can restore from a backup. We have included many links so that you can successfully get back into your iPad.

If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

If you forgot your Apple ID password

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.

Best regards.
