When making or receiving a video call using WhatApp desktop on my MacBook Pro, I do not receive any picture although the other person can see me. i.e. I am not receiving the video. Sound is fine. Can anyone help me?

The connection to WhatsApp Desktop is fine, the sound is fine too but I don't receive the video picture of the caller on the MacBook Pro even though my picture is received by the caller. This is most probably an issue with the Mac and I should be grateful for any ideas.
