iPad Pro with cellular

I travel a lot in a motor coach and need to be able to have access to the internet while parked at a resort that doesn’t offer a connection. The new iPad Pro offers a cellular option. How does that work if I use Consumer Cellular as my phone service carrier? Consumer Cellular tells me it should work as long as it will take their SIM card. Anyone have experience with this?
