Old ipad

I have an old ipad that i am trying to set up so my niece can use it to facetime me. It wont let me set up another apple id. What can i do to set this up

Apple id Using an iPhone 14plus and my husband on an iPhone XS I need to create a separate apple id for him as being 'tied at the hip' in his words is just becoming too complicated and it is difficult to use Facetime when away.
