iPhone is Disabled Message

Twice in the past couple of weeks I've received a message on my phone, counting down to when it finishes. Can anyone tell me what this means and the purpose of it?

No, I have to occasionally use my passcode and that's working. There also is a countdown on the disabled screen, you can see in the image that it says try again in twelve minutes. My phone has been in my pocket, while I'm listening to a podcast, and I pull out the phone from my pocket and see the display. I don't know what's causing this.

The message comes from a number of wrong password attempts. Seems like your phone is getting active while in your pocket and somehow unintended touches are typing wrong passwords. It can happen, you know. There's a million conditions for it, you know, but it can happen.

Not sure this is the situation, but it's a plausible one.

Other possibility is a touch issue with the display. This happens only in the situation you explained or have you noticed a strange behavior of the screen somewhere else?

I believe that's one of those million conditions haha... the phone get a bit humid in the pocket as your body heats up, and depending on the fabric of your clothes at the moment, the display can be activated and random touches in the password screen can end up locking the phone.

Check how you put the phone in the pocket, if with the display facing your leg or facing the outside. The first condition may be more likely to cause it. If you do it this way, test it facing out.

We're speaking of really minor conditions, you know, but 🤷🏻‍♂️
