My iPhone doesn't appear in the sidebar when connected to Mac.

I have followed to what ever it says on apple community but still doesn't work.

any suggestions?

  • Click Finder > Preferences.
  • Select Sidebar Tab.
  • Check box for CD's, DVD's, and iOS Devices. If they're checked, uncheck them, wait a few seconds, and check the again.
  • After a few minutes, check to see if your iPhone is now viewable in the Finder > Locations window.

With High Sierra, you use iTunes.
