RAM is for Multitasking.

Something is using too much system resources, in which case RAM is too low in capacity. Multitasking is when you run many items at once.

Three Things:

A. Uninstall Security Software:

So, something is running in the background. If you have Security Software installed, then it is likely performing scans. So, uninstall it, as it just gets in the way on a Mac, and this is a pure example of how and why. Contact the developer, asking which uninstaller to user.

B. Force Quit the Applications:

1. Go to: Apple menu
2. Select: Force Quit...
3. Select: the application (an all other applications ending in "(Not Responding)"
4. Click: Force Quit button
5. Click: Force Quit button
6. Perform: the same for each item

C. Run in Safe Mode:
