Any way to fix this problem my friend never registered his Apple id

Click here and follow the instructions. Restoring the iPhone requires plugging it into a computer with iTunes installed, or a Mac running Catalina or newer.

Unless the iPhone is activation-locked, this doesn't involve using an Apple ID at all.
