Speaker issue!!!

So, I did the same as what it says here but still, no matter what I do the audio doesn't really come out of the speaker, firstly right after I updated the app VN a few days later my headphones weren't working with my Mac, so now my speakers aren't working!!! in my country there aren't any 'official Apple stores, there are just resellers, so I can't really give my Mac in for fixing due to my studies so what to do??!?!?!!? I really need quick help here so if anyone can help then please help!
