How do I update safari on my iPad? Several websites say they don't support my browser and to update ?
Safari is built into the operating system and updates along with iOS.

Safari is a "built-in" app that comes with the iOS/iPadOS, and it is automatically updated when you update your device's operating system.
If your iPad cannot be updated any further, download a different Internet browser (i.e. Firefox or Chrome) from the App Store and see if they can open those websites.

Some apps or websites developers might not like Safari... (but I'm not able to tell you why).
Just to give you an idea, one of my bank apps (for homebanking) accepts Chrome only. When I discovered that "restriction", I contacted its support team and their great answer was "we have rights to choose our preferred browser". How sad!

Thank you, I did install another browser , but didn’t understand why they said safari needed update. My iPad is up to date.
