Audible on Apple Watch

I have the latest iPhone and Apple Watch, all updated to the latest respective OS. I can’t sync books on audible between my phone and watch. It simple keeps saying “preparing to sync”. I’ve put it on charger, deleted the apps, turned off Bluetooth…I feel like I’ve tried everything. Any help would be appreciated.
