Is my iPad hacked?

The final question after all the other questions I have put out to the lovely clever and helpful community centre.

The final question after all the other questions I have put out to the lovely clever and helpful community centre.

I didn't want to think it is, but I'm starting to think after the way it has been behaving or playing up it could lead to the possibility of that.

I know it's the last thing any Apple user would want. We buy these gorgeously designed devices to manage our daily activities, get our work done, listen to good songs to keep us motivated, keep connected with the world and its other amazing people, take photos of our "best selves" and "best lives" and keep our busy, full and happy life in one place but I'm starting to think those that don't have that have to be super rotten and rather immature to ruin and spoil the joy and happiness of others than actually focussing and doing it for themselves in their own way.

(Very long I know, but it is deeply upsetting if this is the case because I do want to see the good in others but it seems not everyone is actually as kind and nice as we'd like them to be so it's a pity things have to be like this and I have to ask this question. It is evidential though people do such things... never actually get very far in their miserable and sad lives and stay where they are!)

I just wanted to know what are the signs that my iPad may be hacked and what can I do to get it fixed?

iPads are not locked devices, so there is no need for a shop owner to unlock it. When one purchases second hand devices, they can run the risks of things, but if this purchase is a refurbished devices that has been refurbished by Apple, then they stand behind the device as clean. Not knowing who these "shop owners" were, it is hard to say if the device had been wiped to Apple's standards.

Ghost typing can be the result of display problems, not necessarily the installation of nefarious software. If you are concerned about the security of the device, especially after it being stolen and out of your sight for a period of time, I suggest that you wipe the device and set it back up as new, not using a backup. You also have the opportunity to bring the device to the nearest Apple store to have it examined.

It is up to you how you decide to proceed.

Hi Chris,

I have asked a series of questions before that could pinpoint leading myself to believe it could be hacked.

The device is second-hand so unlocked by the shop owners and I am unsure if the responsibility of a device that is malfunctioning in performance lies with them initially. As a user who puts personal and professional, confidential, sensitive information under legal premises with Apple's device, software and ID (which is solely under my name alone and no-one else's) notices, application privacy policies, other codes of conduct, as well as cybercriminal offences, I would not share explicitly with anyone or give access to unless given consent or permission, is being compromised or tampered with.

By that I mean I previously asked a question about an app that asked for my device's passcode prior to use and looking at back the App's page it states it does not require a passcode or any form of login. I have been using this app extensively for a couple of months until I realised this flaw and deleted it.

My passwords I change are incorrect the next day, there are ghost touches on my home screen, my home control button keeps switching itself back on the passcode function even though I have no other device or kit connected to it, my keyboard types words I never intended to - just a series of odd things happening.

My device was stolen also two months ago where I was but, thankfully, I retrieved it. There was a gap where it was not in my rightful ownership and, consequently, those involved from the beginning of its disappearance and to the point of its retrieval points to some reasoning that there is a likely statistical probability it could be hacked.

I do not wish to make any assumptions or accusations for I wouldn't engage in such horrendous and abhorrent behaviour but it is seriously upsetting and distressing, and whilst it may be a machinery glitch... or a joke I'm not sure where the main cause lies.

The critical issue is I am unable to utilise the joy and wonder of my machine for productive and pleasant purposes because I require it to complete my daily tasks and other long-term projects/goals.

I hope that is a sufficient explanation and additionally but very important, as a woman, add adjective young educated woman, it is something I have be more wary and careful of from potential online packaged predators and I think other women like me should, too.
