We just updated to an iPhone 12s from an iPhone XR and our existing apps are not being able to be downloaded on the new phone

Apps are downloaded to the new iPhone from the App Store. That download requires Wi-Fi (no Hotspot, no VPN), and a well charged battery.


Additionally, it’s troubling that you say “we” and “our”. An iPhone is associated with exactly one Apple ID. An Apple ID should be associated with exactly one person, regardless of age.
