'iPad is disabled'

I get a message on the screen that says 'iPad is disabled connect to iTunes'. When I connect the iPad to my laptop and go to iTunes, nothing happens.

I'm sorry to hear your computer is not recognising your iPad, please take a look at the steps here If your computer doesn't recognise your iPhone, iPad or iPod – Apple Support
