Why is my Apple Home app stuck "Loading Accessories and Scenes"?

I just set up a new iPhone after being an Android user for 3 years. After finally remembering my old apple account password and removing the old devices from it Apple Home is still stuck. All the advice I found in other threads didn't help. I tried:

• turning on keychain services
• rebooting the phone
• logging out of my apple id
• uninstalling and reinstalling the home app
• removing all other devices from my account
• updating to the latest iOS version (already up to date)

Please help me understand what is wrong with my account so I can use Apple Home
