What should I do if the apple TV did not come with the power cable (bought new)?

Did you keep the original packaging? It can be hiding under a cardboard flap. It is very compactly packed.

I would return it and get a new box,

but the cable is an industrial std. my old playstation2 and cd player use the exact same cable

most supermarkets or av store should carry them
