Migration complete, stuck on Restarting.

I used Migration Assistant to move files between my MacBook Air 2012 to my new MacBook Air 2020. Migration completed successfully. However, the new laptop has now been stuck on Restarting for 30 minutes. Should I reboot or wait?

While I've already made complete replies with two options to help;

this Apple community site page prematurely logged-me out. And

any alleged automatic recovery to capture and re-use my effort has

never worked to save lost effort. ~ I'm at a loss. Twice, just now..

Not sure if I can rebuild lost efforts; I'm steaming, & rarely anger.

You may force restart and immediately try Safe mode. (all links to ASC

documentation, were attached and tested; prior to total loss).

And if your new Mac is Apple Silicon M1, you could try macOS Recovery

(this different instruction link to use, compares to Intel-based Mac.) While a

method to start up to use recovery partition, outside boot partition system

on your hard drive, (Opt key) can be useful; probably not with M1 Silicon.

Since 2003 I've wasted many days worth of hours here trying to 'help.'

My last affordably new mac was Late 2012 Mac mini quad core server.

And two other working Macs of varying vintage, and different Mac OS.

Best of luck with your situation, mine is like knee-capped gymnastics.

Sorry to show an attitude. But not as sorry as wasting effort here.
