From within the Terminal app, type
exit
and then quit the Terminal app.

Typically third party Anti-Virus does nothing but add issues and compete directly with Apple’s® own built in Security:
Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/Anti-Virus/VPN
macOS - Security - Apple https://www.apple.com/macos/security/
Apple Platform Security - Apple https://support.apple.com/guide/security/welcome/web
Don't let Norton or any other AV app mess with your mac.
Get uninstall instructions from the developer and get rid of it.
Click the Terminal app icon in your dock.
Then in the menu bar at the top of your screen click Terminal > Quit Terminal.
Thanks again for your help, I had already done that, slid it over to trash and reset , all worked OK so far.
You're welcome.
