Got e/m that someone in Virginia tried to log into my acct 6/25/21

Someone may know your Apple ID email address, but they don't know the password. If you changed your password, you should be okay. You can also add 2 Factor Authentication to your account for more security. If the attempts continue, you might want to consider a name change.
