Currently I am using 5ghz wifi connection to connect my mac, ipad and iphone. But it seems watch cannot connect to 5ghz. It requires 2.4ghz. Hence there is a problem with unlocking mac with watch. Is it true?
Is it? I dont think so! They dont have the chip to support 5ghz wifi. But yes, they can support 5G sim I think. But then how will someone use the apple watch unlock feature in macbooks? Cause Macs can connect to 5ghz. As well as Iphones.
There is a notable speed difference. At least 30-40mbps decrease in speed in 2.4ghz. Off course I can use 2.4ghz as my work will not require more than 40mbps speed, but it was just a question which came while configuring my mac.

Apple watch 6 can connect to both frequencies,watch 5 and below require 2.4Ghz.

Why don't you just put the router in 2.4Ghz mode?.
