Are there issues with Chess on Mac OS Big Sur?

Hi there - in-line with some of the other threads, I've noticed that the Chess programme on Apple Mac seems to be starting from a much higher baseline since 'Big Sur' was introduced. Not really suitable for a beginning anymore even at the baseline setting. Does a legacy version exist at all?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Yours is not the first complaint I have heard about the Chess.app

There is no stand alone Chess.app to download, since it comes baked into the macOS as a package.

You can revert to your previous macOS if it suits you better.
