Mini-frreeze on Old Outlook on MacBook Air/Big Sur 11.4

I have the "old" Outlook on a MacBook (Big Sur 11:4). I continue to have "mini-freezes" on Outlook. Outlook does not crash, but it literally freezes for a short time--sometimes as short as 3-5 seconds, sometimes longer. Sometimes I need to close Outlook and reopen. Once in a while I have restarted the laptop. I have already reinstalled Office several times and that does not help. I do not want the new, worthless Outlook. I know the people at Apple and at Microsoft are VERY smart. They have degrees from top universities. They are imaginative, creative, hard-working, and persistent. They can solve this problem which affects not only me but many Mac-Outlook users I know. There is no reason MacBook users should say to one another, “Mac and Outlook (and Office) do not play together very well.” If anyone has had success dealing with this issue, I would be grateful to know what you have done. I would also welcome suggestions as to how to call this issue to the attention of Apple engineers and M
