Continuity Markup not working for M1 Mac Mini 2020 and Ipad Pro 2018

Hi,

I am taking screenshot on my m1 mac mini, then on preview mode, there's no option to markup on ipad. There's only markup on the mac mini its self.

Both my device are connected to the same wifi, and bluetooth is turned on.

I tried the same thing with my 2016 Macbook Pro (Big Sur) but it works fine. I took screenshot, open in preview, and there's option to markup with ipad.

The documetation in support does not help.

Mac mini 2018 or later

Works for me, try restarting Both the iPad and the M1 Mac Mini.

Make sure both are fully up to date with their operating system versions and all patches.

M1 Mac Mini 11.4 (20F71)
iPad Pro 12.9" 2015 iPadOS 14.6
Same unrestricted WiFi network (not a corporate network)
Both have Bluetooth enabled
Same AppleID / iCloud account
Start screenshot on M1 Mac Mini with Shift + Command + 4
Click on screenshot preview thumbnail in bottom right of M1 Mac Mini screen
Click the annotate on iOS Device toolbar button and iPad is a listed option.
Annotation screen appears on the iPad. Screenshot of it below.

I am not entirely sure what make it works.

What I did not do:

updating the MacOS or iPadOS, since it's already updated.

What I think might be the solution was:

Restart Mac Mini, or
Trying the continuity markup from another device (Macbook), and then trying it again from Mac Mini

I just read the instruction above, and did nothing after that except for taking screenshot, and it magically works. LOL.

But I was restarting my mac mini before posting the question, but didn't try the continuity markup again.

So perhaps the restart works.

Please reply with what you did that resolved the issue as it will benefits others who might run into the same problem. Was it a reboot? Was it needing to update the iPad or macOS?
