iPhone fell off a cliff

Hi- I dropped my iPhone off of a cliff (it was a waterfall and I was unable to retrieve it) and I'm pretty sure I have apple care + and I had find my friends turned on and can see it's location. I'm wondering what the steps are to get a replacement/how my apple care covers the incident. Thanks so much!
