I have had this less than two months, but am blocked to remove it.
I receive notifications even if I am logged in and have already authenticated - this is a ridiculous mess and annoying.
Had I known this would happen I would not have done it.
If I get a new phone will this be automatically transferred to that phone as well?
If so then I will get an Android.

Two-factor authentication is enabled by default on new Apple IDs and cannot be turned off.
If you have an old account and recently activated Two Factor Authentication note this section of an Apple support article:

It is on your Apple ID, not on any particular item of hardware.
