What does that have to do with the question? The OP simply asked if battery life will be harmed by charging their phone overnight. And the correct answer is no, it won't. frazzm37 gave the correct answer. There is nothing circumstantial about charging an iPhone battery at night and it is in fact the recommended way to charge iPhone.

No. Actually charging over night is recommended and I would guess that is when most do it while they sleep. Check these links for battery tips...
