Does game progress share across devices with Game Center?

I’ve been playing Zombie Night Terror on my iPhone XR. I just got an iPad Pro and would like to play it on that. I have the settings in the game set to be connected to Game Center and to Save Progression to iCloud, but the new device isn’t pulling in the progress from the old one, so I have to start over. Do I have to live with that, or is there a way to transfer my progress to the new device?

Hi charlando,

Congratulations on your new iPad Pro, and welcome to Apple Support Communities! We'd love to help with syncing your game progress across devices.

To ensure we're on the same page, please let us know if you've had an opportunity to sign into iCloud using the same Apple ID on your new iPad Pro. If so, you'll want to head into Settings > Game Center on each device, and verify that the same Apple ID appears there as well.

The following guide has more information to help:

Let us know if you have any questions, or if the issue persists.

Have a great day!

Hi charlando,

Thanks for checking and confirming. In that case, since your app is configured for Game Center properly on both devices and the issue persists, you'll want to reach out to the app developer directly at this point to inquire further.

You can find the contact information for an app's developer in the App Store by following the instructions in this guide:

How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Take care!

Hi charlando,

To clarify, it sounds like this option to "Save progression" is within the game itself. Is this correct?

Have you had an opportunity to delete the affected version of the app from your second device, in order to restart your device and reinstall it? If not, please do so now.

Also, you'll want to ensure that all other iCloud features are syncing as expected on this device. If you're experiencing an issue syncing any other iCloud content, such as contacts, calendars, etc., will it be possible to test your device while joined to a different Wi-Fi network?

If the issue is affecting other iCloud services and while using other Wi-Fi networks, reach out to Apple Support here:

If the issue is isolated to this app, you'll want to continue working with the developer to identify the root cause in the app itself.

Have a great day!

To follow up after hearing back from the developer. On the Device 1, the one with the progress that I want to transfer to Device 2, I have the “Save progression…” box selected and it all seems fine. In my iCloud settings on device 1, it’s listed as an app that gets saved to iCloud. On Device 2, though, when I select that option and then kill the app, it does not stay selected. Under Settings>iCloud>Apps Using iCloud on Device 2 this app does not appear. The developer thinks it’s an iCloud issue:

Oh ok, then on this second device there is definitely a problem trying to activate the sync / iCloud. Can't say other thing than "check all your iTunes settings / authorization etc on this second device" to ensure znt is allowed

I’ve looked in all the spots I can think of to make sure I’ve got it configured correctly, but I must be missing something. Any other ideas?
