I just discovered that my iPhone deletes emails on the server when I kill them on the phone – regardless of what I want to do with them. This is a nuisance and an insult.
I don't want Apple doing my thinking for me. I signed up for a service, not a lobotomy.
This is disgraceful and should be amended at once.
That is the way IMAP and Exchange emails accounts work. Apple did not write the standard. This has nothing to do with Apple.

Sorry, but KiltedTim is correct. Apple does not control this. It depends on what kind of account you have, IMAP a or POP. It has nothing at all to do with Apple.

You clearly don't understand what you're speaking about. You can blame Apple all you want, but Apple has nothing to do with the type of account your email provider uses. If you're not happy with your email provider, complain to them.
