Mouse connection lost

One cause could be poorly shielded USB 3.0 or USB-C cables and devices.

Another cause could be a portable phone base station or a high EMI device with an electric motor that is in close proximity to the iMac.

The following will require any USB keyboard and mouse. If you don’t have them, borrow or buy them, they are inexpensive!

• Connect the USB keyboard and mouse to thecomputer.
• Open System Preferences – Bluetooth
• Un-pair the wireless keyboard and mouse.
• Turn off Bluetooth
• Restart the computer in Safe Mode per the directions in https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
• Restart the computer normally.
• Open System Preferences – Bluetooth
• Turn on Bluetooth
• Re-Pair the wireless keyboard and mouse.
• Unplug the USB keyboard and mouse and begin testing the wireless devices again.

2021-0726 My bluetooth apple magic mouse keeps disconnecting from MacBook-Pro (Purchased 1/2020 15" with OS updated automatically). I installed new batteries and tried various "FIXES"...paper under batter cover, tin foil on neg end of batteries, bending battery cover to hold tighter, etc....nothing worked!!! Still disconnects a lot, I MEAN A LOT!!

It sure seem as though I spend more time trying to keep mouse connected for use than using the computer.

I have bluetooth --Apple Keyboard, Sony TV, & Dish receiver, and all cables connected to MacBook are either Apple or Apple Verified.

Would a new mouse solve the problem?
