Network/Wi-Fi issue with Thunderbolt Display
Hi,
I have bought a Mac Mini M1 512/16 two weeks and two days ago,
I have since experienced some network disruption, instability, and slow-down, but I thought it was my internet provider fault, then I got the idea to compare with my Macbook Pro 16 with the same condition (same network, same ultrafine 5K display, same thunderbolt cable, same everything OK),
On the mac mini I got 70~160 MBit/s, while on the Macbook Pro 16 I got 320~350 MBit/s !
So I tried to disconnect the thunderbolt display off the Mac Mini, launching the speedtest just by pressing the Enter key on the keyboard... waiting few seconds for the test to finish then reconnecting the display to see the result...
It goes up to ~300 MBit/s ! Still a bit under the Macbook Pro 16,
So I sent screens to apple support online chat, and got an apple store appointment tomorrow,
I have noticed that a lot of people got the same network issues with M1 devices (just google it you will see),
I am very angry against Apple, also they said they will not immediately get back the defect product because I am over the 14 days delay by few... So will see tomorrow with a technician,
A computer with such network hardware issue, as called a hidden defect, is no use to me at all, I hope a refund,
I join here two screens (100Mbit/s is with thunderbolt display plugged and 300MBit/s is without),
I am very angry against Apple,
Thank you for reading.
