iPad mini ghost images

My iPad display shows "ghost" images. It appears to update the even lines on the display and then wait about a second before updating the odd lines. The display has no visible physical damage and operated normally one day then not the next day. Everything else functions normally. It's an iPad mini, 2 and is updated as much as it can be. Anticipating that this may not be repairable I have already purchased a new iPad and transferred all data to the new one. I reset it with no improvement. I welcome any suggestions. Thank you
