blocking number after texts deleted

I know how to block numbers connected with spam texts, but I just deleted a string of them from someone I know who I now wish to block. I still have this person's personal information in my contacts, but I can't figure out how I block calls or texts from them without having a message or call right there to block. I'd really rather not have to go through restoring messages, if that's what it would take.

Come to think of it, I probably screwed up the same way in e-mail, too (only on computer, not on phone). Is there a way to block an e-mail address if the mails are already deleted and deleted messages have been erased?

Thanks.

Hey  Ramblin,

It appears that you'd like to block a contact in your Contacts app without having to search for a message or call to use to block. We're glad to glad to provide assistance.

Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support -- Since you have the Contact information already, go to Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts. You can either hit "Edit" in the right-top corner now or wait until you've reached the bottom of the list to add their number. Settings > Messages > Blocked Contacts is the same.

Block senders in Mail on Mac - Apple Support -- If you have their email address, with the Mail app open, select Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail > Blocked. Hit the plus sign and add their address.

Feel free to get back to us with any questions or problems you may have.

All the best.
