How can I backup my iPhone?

I bought an iPhone Mini and I start using it as a new device without connecting it with my mac.

Now I would like to make a backup (the first one) on my Mac.

But when I connect the iPhone with mac it says "welcome to your new iPhone" and want to set up it as a new iPhone or restore from a backup. And I don't want none of this.

I just want to back up it not. How can I do it?
